ABOUT US
We are proud of our strong dedication to reducing the environmental impact a restaurant can have. We have a restaurant wide composting system in place in which 90% of our food waste is composted and sold back to area farmers. We have used earth friendly paint and CFL lights on the whole interior, our to- go containers and cups are all recycleable.
Our fry oil gets sent to a company who processes it into bio-fuel.
Our menu offers grass fed beef and organic free range chicken.
We use local, bio-sustainable and/or organic produce whenever possible.
Community Involvement
The Simpson family, Chris, Sophie, Ruby, Stella & Tuco (the family dog), have deep roots in the Mt Airy community. Since returning to the Philadelphia area 6 years ago, Chris and Sophie have established Blue Banyan Yoga Studio, enrolled two children at the Waldorf School of Philadelphia, and have opened Wine Thief. As business owners in a small community they have participated in First Friday, worked closely with both Mt Airy USA and The Mt Airy Business Association, donated to many local non- profits, as well as participated in local events such as the Northwest Harvest Festival and Mt Airy Day.
Chris and Sophie would like to thank specific members of the community for their help with the development of Wine Thief:
